The Importance of the Off Season Program
The workouts / exercises we work on each week are taken home or worked on in the gym 2 - 3 more days in order to help build up and strengthen the athlete. Pitching is not a 1 day a week event. It is a lifestyle choice. To become better at pitching or anything for that matter it takes physical practice (Positive habits / patterns to build up the subconscious) and correct application. The same goes for your mental state. Visualization and positive affirmations are a good place to start. Whatever you give your energy and attention to will come back. This is a common theme for athletes in the program. The expectations for success are high and as long as I feel the athlete is giving their best effort in becoming better, I have no problems with mistakes. In fact without some level of failure there would be no real growth.
